The foundation is in the public phase of a historic campaign to raise $3 billion to build a better future for Nebraska. The campaign is being led by many enthusiastic volunteers representing all areas of the University of Nebraska System. This position will be based in our Lincoln office and will require occasional work over nonbusiness hours. Ways you will make an impact: Write and edit copy for internal and external audiences and write and execute communication plans. Produce a weekly internal newsletter and manage content for internal digital information boards. Send emergency alerts regarding office closures due to weather or other emergencies. During a crisis, serve as the internal communications coordinator. Occasionally coordinate and work foundation events. Support public relations efforts by writing news releases, assisting with our four campus giving days, capturing event photos and video, and drafting event scripts. Who we want: Relationally talented and collaborative individuals who can make authentic connections and facilitate meaningful conversations with a wide variety of people. Communicators who can gather and understand complex information and then communicate it to others in simple terms. Strong writer who can tell a story and write for a variety of audiences. Organized and adaptable professionals who can meet deadlines, manage multiple responsibilities, and effectively prioritize competing priorities. Team players who can function independently, as well as part of a collaborative team. What you need: Education: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or public relations. Minimum Experience: 5+ years of experience in writing and editing. Preferred Experience: experience in internal communications. Excellent writing and editing storytelling skills. Ability to distill complex information into content that is engaging and understandable. Ability to work with managers and employees of all levels. Excellent time management skills and attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Photoshop.
