Fund Accountant | Gen II Fund Services The Tone: This is a full-time role at Gen II Fund Services, offering a hybrid work arrangement comprised of two days a week in the office and three days remotely. Gen II Fund Services is recognized as one of the largest global independent private equity fund administrators, administering over $1 trillion of private capital for clients across its 14 offices in the US, Canada, and Europe. As a Fund Accountant, you will be instrumental in providing essential accounting services, encompassing the preparation and processing of transactions, financial statements, and all supporting schedules and work papers. This position contributes directly to Gen II’s mission of offering fund sponsors a best-in-class combination of people, process, and technology to effectively manage their operational infrastructure, financial reporting, and investor communications. The TL;DR Role: Early Career Type: Hybrid Location: Hybrid (US Offices) Pay: $60000–$70000 yearly Mission: Provide comprehensive accounting services, including transaction processing and financial statement preparation, to support the operational and reporting needs of private equity funds. What You’ll Actually Do Core Accounting Operations: Perform essential daily cash processing tasks and reconcile bank statements to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records. General Ledger Management: Accurately record journal entries and diligently maintain the general ledger, serving as the foundation for all financial reporting. Documentation and Controls: Prepare and meticulously set up workpapers and checklists, ensuring adherence to internal controls and supporting audit readiness. Financial Reporting & Analysis: Compile and prepare comprehensive financial statements along with detailed footnotes, providing clarity on the financial position and performance of funds. Investor and Partner Communications: Generate critical partner capital account information and manage investor capital call and distribution processing effectively. Audit Coordination: Act as a primary point of contact and liaison with the client’s independent auditors, assisting with requests and ensuring a smooth audit process. The Must-Haves Background: A Bachelor’s degree is a mandatory requirement for this role. Experience: The position requires candidates to have educational preparedness for providing accounting services, including the preparation and processing of transactions and financial statements with supporting documentation. Skills: Demonstrated ability to record journal entries, maintain a general ledger, perform cash processing and bank reconciliations, and prepare financial statements.
