Physical Therapist Outpatient

Job Summary:

The Physical Therapist provides outpatient therapy services in an acute care, long term care, and outpatient setting at a critical access hospital. This role involves evaluating and treating patients of all ages with a variety of diagnoses, including pediatrics and adolescents, focusing on rehabilitation and specialized care such as wound care, lymphedema, and pelvic floor therapy. The Physical Therapist collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve patient mobility and function. A minimum of one year of experience and current BLS certification are required. Responsibilities:

• Assess and evaluate patients' physical conditions to develop appropriate treatment plans.
• Provide skilled physical therapy interventions to outpatients, inpatients, and skilled nursing facility patients.
• Deliver specialized therapies including wound care, lymphedema management, pelvic floor therapy, and pediatric rehabilitation.
• Document patient progress and treatment outcomes using Epic electronic medical records.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and optimize treatment results.
• Provide coverage and float within scope to outpatient, acute care, and skilled nursing facility departments as needed.
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Current Physical Therapist license in Alaska.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant physical therapy experience.
• Ability to use Epic electronic medical records system.
• Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working with pediatric and adolescent patient populations.
• Knowledge of specialized therapy areas such as wound care, lymphedema, and pelvic floor therapy.

Special Considerations:

• No on-call requirements.
• Facility is a Level IV Trauma Critical Access Hospital with 46 acute care beds and 22 long term care beds.
• Facility provides housing with restrictions: no pets allowed, housing suitable for single occupancy only, and travelers responsible for cleaning upon departure.
• Parking is free and dress code is business casual or scrubs.

Scheduling:

• Work schedule consists of five 8-hour day shifts per week.
• Guaranteed 70 hours per two-week period, with potential to be called off for one 10-hour shift every two weeks.
• Block scheduling is not accommodated.
