Registered Nurse - Stepdown Unit

Location: West Virginia

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, weekends as scheduled.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will work in the Stepdown Unit, providing high-quality care to patients with various medical needs. Responsibilities include monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms, titrating drips, and ensuring patient safety and comfort. The RN will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including a hospitalist available 24/7 and intensivists during specified hours.

Responsibilities

Manage patient care in a 28-bed private Stepdown Unit.
Monitor telemetry and interpret strips, with support from a central monitor station.
Titrate medications such as Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Heparin.
Assist in ventilator management, including BiPAP, CPAP, and high flow systems.
Work alongside nursing aides during specified shifts.
Participate in a rotating holiday and weekend schedule.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
