CHIEF Technology Officer

We are looking for a hands‑on Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead engineering and technical strategy as we scale an AI‑powered enterprise data platform. This is a founder‑level leadership role for someone who thrives in fast‑paced startup environments and enjoys solving complex customer problems through technology. You will own engineering from customer discovery through production deployment, working directly with enterprise customers to design scalable AI‑powered workflows that transform unstructured documents into trusted, structured data. You'll be responsible for technical architecture, engineering execution, customer‑facing technical leadership, hiring, and growing a high‑performing engineering team. Initially, this role will remain highly hands‑on, with approximately 30–50% of your time spent coding, reviewing architecture, and solving technical challenges , before gradually transitioning toward broader engineering leadership. Responsibilities Define and execute the technical vision for the AI platform and supporting data infrastructure. Design scalable systems for document ingestion, extraction, schema mapping, provenance, evaluation frameworks, and enterprise integrations. Partner directly with enterprise customers to translate complex workflows into scalable technical solutions. Lead customer implementations and establish repeatable deployment patterns. Build, mentor, and grow a high‑performing engineering team while fostering a strong technical culture. Collaborate closely with product leadership on roadmap planning, prioritization, and technical decision‑making. Participate in customer meetings, technical due diligence, hiring, fundraising, and strategic planning. Drive architecture reviews, engineering best practices, security, scalability, and overall platform reliability. Qualifications Experience as a CTO, Founding Engineer, Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, or technical startup founder. Strong software engineering background with experience at both high‑growth startups and leading technology companies. Proven ability to design, build, and scale distributed systems and enterprise software. Hands‑on coding experience with modern backend technologies and cloud infrastructure. Experience building AI‑powered products, document processing systems, workflow automation, or enterprise data platforms. Strong understanding of system architecture, APIs, distributed systems, and data pipelines. Comfortable working directly with enterprise customers to solve complex technical challenges. Demonstrated experience recruiting, mentoring, and leading engineering teams. Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Enterprise AI, Document AI, OCR, workflow automation, or data infrastructure. Background in forward‑deployed engineering, solutions architecture, or customer‑facing technical leadership. Experience building AI agents, LLM‑powered applications, and evaluation frameworks. Familiarity with enterprise integrations, including SharePoint, OneDrive, Google Drive, Box, email systems, and ERP platforms.
