Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients with complex problems
• Assess patient and family readiness to learn, developmental level, and factors affecting ability to learn; utilize appropriate patient education materials for the oncology population
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care, communicate relevant information, and promote continuity of care
• Perform bedside point-of-care testing and apply healthcare organization standards, policies, and procedures in the delivery of care
• Identify and address discharge planning needs, cultural and ethnic considerations, and psychosocial factors when developing and updating individualized plans of care
• Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care initiatives while promoting a safe and secure environment

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the state of North Carolina
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program
• Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN or MSN from an accredited nursing program
• Experience in an oncology or outpatient clinical setting
