Our organization, a physician-led nonprofit health system located in southwest Michigan, is in search of a Board Eligible/Board Certified Gastroenterologist and GI Hospitalist to become part of our well-established and expanding Gastroenterology program. The selected candidate will have the chance to collaborate with a supportive team and can choose to focus on an outpatient Gastroenterology practice, a GI Hospitalist role, or a blend of both, depending on the practice's requirements.

Practice Highlights

• Become a member of a seasoned Gastroenterology team, working alongside three skilled Gastroenterologists and a committed group of Advanced Practice Providers.
• Enjoy a flexible practice model with options in General Gastroenterology, GI Hospitalist Medicine, or a mix of outpatient and inpatient care.
• While advanced endoscopy skills such as ERCP and EUS are preferred, they are not mandatory.
• We welcome additional clinical interests, including Motility/Neurogastroenterology, Hepatology, and Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
• Perform procedures at various hospital campuses and an ambulatory surgery center.
• Benefit from robust support from Advanced Practice Providers.
• Engage in teaching opportunities through an affiliated medical school, which includes adjunct faculty roles and medical student rotations.
• Both conscious sedation and general anesthesia options are available based on the type and location of procedures.
• Utilize a modern Cerner Oracle EMR system across all inpatient and outpatient environments.

Practice Structure

• Work a Monday through Friday outpatient clinic schedule with designated procedure time.
• Choose between a traditional outpatient Gastroenterology practice, a dedicated GI Hospitalist position, or a combination of both.
• The GI Hospitalist schedule can accommodate a traditional 7-on/7-off rotation or a similar arrangement.
• Outpatient physicians typically see around 12-14 patients each clinic day, depending on in-office procedures.
• Inpatient and outpatient roles are recruited separately and can be customized to align with physician interests and practice needs.
