Position Overview

Daryl Watson State Farm is a 20+ year agency in Halethorpe, MD, and we're hiring for one seat: a sales-focused team member who wants to build a career in insurance. No two days look the same — you'll help existing customers with their policies, but the heart of this job is winning new business: quoting, following up, and closing. Our current team is strong on service; we're hiring for a sales personality to complement them.

Be aware before you apply: this is an in-office, phone-heavy sales role, and you'll be studying for your Maryland insurance license in your first weeks (we pay for all of it). We're looking for someone committed to finishing that license and producing — not looking to give it a try. Candidates who are fluent or proficient in Spanish and English are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Develop new business through outbound calls, referrals, and warm follow-ups
• Quote, set appointments, and move prospects through the sales process to close
• Round out existing customer accounts by identifying coverage gaps and cross-selling during reviews
• Help customers with policy questions, coverage changes, and billing — accurately and with care
• Maintain accurate activity, pipeline, and customer records in the agency system
• Meet weekly and monthly sales goals

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of customer-facing or sales experience (insurance experience not required — we'll train you on the industry)
• Active P&C or Life/Health license is a strong plus and moves you to the front of the line
• Committed to earning your Maryland insurance license within your first 90 days — we cover the prep course, study materials, and exam fees
• A sales mindset: motivated by goals, comfortable asking for the business
• Fluent or proficient in Spanish and English, preferred
• Reliable on-site availability at our Halethorpe office, Monday–Friday
• Organized, coachable, and team-oriented

Compensation & Benefits

• $45,000–$60,000 total compensation (base salary + unlimited commissions + monthly production bonuses)
• Raise upon completing your insurance license, plus eligibility for our monthly bonus program
• We pay 100% of your licensing costs — ExamFX prep course, study materials, and exam fees
