Payroll Specialist
An Insight Global client is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join its payroll operations team in New York City. This individual will support payroll processing for more than 100 client companies and work closely with payroll professionals, bookkeepers, accountants, and clients to ensure accurate and compliant payroll administration.
Responsibilities:
- Process payroll for 100+ companies.
- Support weekly and biweekly payroll schedules.
- Utilize cloud-based payroll software.
- Set up, maintain, and upload payroll data into QuickBooks.
- Work closely with bookkeepers and accountants to support payroll operations.
- Manage SUI setup, workers' compensation, disability administration, and related compliance audits.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from clients.
- Address payroll issues and respond to IRS and state agency communications.
- Process and distribute payroll through direct deposit and physical checks.
- Generate payroll reports and maintain client payroll files.
- Prepare, review, and navigate payroll tax returns.
- Answer client questions regarding payroll matters.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and responsiveness.
