Medical Laboratory Scientist - Part-Time Night

Medical Laboratory Scientist – Providence Portland Medical Center, Portland, OR Part-time, night shift. The Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist Journeyman is responsible for accurate and timely reporting of high-complexity laboratory test results with minimal supervision. The candidate performs pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical duties including specimen evaluation, data analysis, instrument maintenance, and problem resolution. Work is performed with acute-care and outpatient caregivers, and with other Laboratory Services staff. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science from an NAACLS accredited program, or Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Sciences, or National Medical Laboratory Scientist certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology, or National Clinical Laboratory Scientist certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology, or National Medical Technologist certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology, or National Medical Technologist certification from the American Medical Technologists, or National Medical Laboratory Scientist certification from the American Medical Technologists, and At least one year of experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in a laboratory department performing the principal duties and functions as defined in the MLS I job description. Preferred Qualifications Three or more years of clinical laboratory experience in a moderate or high complexity laboratory.
