Position Description
The Records Director ensures every veteran's medical record is indexed accurately, making examiners' review faster and more precise. Their work directly impacts exam quality by ensuring providers quickly access relevant, organized evidence. They strengthen accuracy for medical opinions and DBQ sufficiency.
This position is located in our Fairfax, VA or Lafayette, LA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.

Your future duties and responsibilities
Ensures complete, accurate, and well‑structured claimant medical evidence is routed to examiners and VA systems.
Oversees record ingestion, indexing, classification, tagging, labeling, and document routing.
Manages evidence extraction processes and ensures examiners receive complete eFolders and record packets.
Manages Caseflow retrieval workflows and missing‑document reconciliation.
Ensures full privacy, security, audit logging, and compliance with VA standards, including SPI handling.
Conducts quality assurance checks on record sufficiency, organization, completeness, and specialty tagging.
Coordinates with clinical staff to support case preparation.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Bachelor's degree 
5–7 years medical records management 
RHIT (preferred minimum) 
Familiarity with disability evidence requirements

Desired qualifications/non essential skills required
RHIA
Experience with federal medical record review programs

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $70,800.00 $172,400.00.
