Police Officer

City of Santa Fe Springs

Overview The City of Gainesville seeks an innovative Human Resources professional who will specialize in Staffing Services, but will develop competence in a wide range of Human Resource programs and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in personnel administration, personnel relations, business administration or related field and one year experience in personnel, public relations, marketing, or customer service work. Responsibilities Coordinate recruiting and processing of applicants for positions. Coordinate employee information and recognition programs and activities. Design and prepare effective employee publicity campaigns and produce and distribute informational materials to City employees. Conduct special studies. Administer Retirement programs, Family Medical Leave process, equal opportunity and affirmative action guidelines, and labor relations. Conduct audits and analyses. Plan, organize and conduct salary surveys including reviewing comparability of positions; analyze salary data and prepare comparative summaries and recommend adjustments. Analyze information and recommend practical solutions to improve Human Resources systems and programs. Maintain relevant records, statistics, and documentation. Assist with reorganizations, testing, and training. Assist and advise managers in area of expertise. Counsel employees. Represent the City at hearings. Make presentations to groups and individuals. Explain and defend findings as required. Attend work on a continuous and regular basis. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Graduation from an accredited four‑year college in personnel administration, personnel relations, marketing, finance, or related field and one (1) year experience in personnel, public relations, marketing, or customer service work, or a two‑year college business program including coursework in personnel administration, personnel relations, marketing, finance, or related courses and three (3) years experience in personnel, public relations, marketing, or customer service work, or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, ability, and skills. Licenses / Credentials Valid Florida Driver’s License required. Notes May be required to attend meetings outside business hours.
