Job Summary Schedule: 3-8 hour shifts, 3:00pm – 11:00pm. With a commitment to patient- and family-centered care, the professional nurse uses the nursing process to value the uniqueness of each individual and addresses the physical, psychological, emotional, and social needs of a diverse patient population. The nurse develops nursing plans of care in collaboration with patients and their designated care partners, ensuring that care is consistent with patients’ cultural beliefs and values. Responsibilities Integrate evidence-based practice, clinical expertise, and patient, family, and cultural preferences to deliver optimal healthcare. Partner with patients and their care partners to identify learning needs, priorities, and provide education that is useful, understandable, and affirming. Minimize risk of harm to patients and others by following established nursing practices, protocols, and personal performance standards. Use information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support ethical decision making. Use data to monitor outcomes of care processes and apply improvement methods to design and test changes that continuously improve the quality and safety of patient care. Function effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making to achieve quality patient care. Recognize and respect patients and their partners in providing safe, compassionate, and coordinated care based on personal preferences, priorities, and cultural beliefs. Create an environment of belonging and inclusion, demonstrating problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Demonstrate a commitment to learning, seek opportunities for continued professional growth and development, and act in a primary preceptor role to appropriate staff members. Actively participate in hospital- and practice setting-based committees, including safety and quality improvement. Demonstrate willingness to give and receive feedback and integrate appropriate changes into practice. Minimum Qualifications Specialized Diploma graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Use of partnership language with patients and families. Appropriate and respectful delegation to team members. Patient Assessment and Care Knowledge. Health Information Documentation Knowledge. BLS – Basic Life Support (American Heart Association). RN – Licensed Registered Nurse. PA – State of Pennsylvania. Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree BSN or completion within 3 years of hire strongly preferred. • Previous experience as an RN in an acute‑care setting strongly preferred. Physical Demands Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Push/pull patients on bed or stretcher (requires 29 lbs push force). Lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient’s weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking; patient transporters may walk 8-10 miles per shift. Perform activities specific to the role including kneeling, bending, squatting, and performing CPR.
