Assistant General Manager Requirements & Qualifications

2–4 years of management experience in quick-service restaurants, hospitality, or a related customer-service environment
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
Comfortable analyzing operational data to improve performance
Willingness to work flexible shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Assistant General Manager Preferred Background & Skills

Supervisory experience at a major quick-service restaurant
Familiarity with restaurant management systems, such as workforce scheduling, point of sale, or learning platforms
ServSafe Certification
Background in high-volume team management and staff development

Assistant General Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Support, coach, and develop a high-performing restaurant team
Lead daily operations to ensure food safety, quality, cleanliness, and service standards
Assist with inventory, labor management, and cost control processes
Foster a welcoming, guest-first culture by addressing guest needs and resolving issues professionally
Enforce health, safety, and regulatory compliance throughout the restaurant
Execute local marketing initiatives and support community engagement efforts
