Senior Real Estate Analyst

Alexander Chapman is partnering with an established real estate private equity and investment platform seeking a Senior Analyst to join its Investments & Asset Management team in Los Angeles. This is an investment-focused position within a lean team and is best suited to someone currently working at a leading private equity, real estate investment, or investment banking platform who wants broader responsibility and direct exposure to senior investment professionals. The role will have a significant focus on real estate investment analysis and underwriting , alongside exposure to asset management and the full investment lifecycle. Responsibilities Underwrite new commercial real estate investment opportunities Build detailed property-level financial models and return analyses Evaluate potential acquisitions, including valuation, capital structure and investment returns Perform market, property, tenant and comparable analysis Support due diligence and transaction execution through closing Prepare investment committee materials and investment recommendations Assist with financing and capital structure analysis Monitor existing investments and evaluate asset-level performance Support execution of asset-level business plans and strategic initiatives Work directly with senior members of the investment team across active transactions Requirements 2-3 years of relevant professional experience strongly preferred Current or previous experience within private equity, real estate private equity, investment banking, or a highly institutional real estate investment platform Significant financial modeling and underwriting experience is required Strong preference for candidates with direct property-level commercial real estate underwriting experience Experience evaluating acquisitions or real estate investment opportunities Strong understanding of real estate valuation, cash flows, returns and investment fundamentals Advanced Excel skills ARGUS experience preferred Strong academic background Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills Ability to operate independently and take ownership within a lean investment team Must be based in Los Angeles or willing to relocate Must be comfortable working in an in-office environment This opportunity is particularly well suited to someone coming from a larger institutional platform who wants to move into a smaller, entrepreneurial structure with greater deal exposure, responsibility and long-term growth potential . To be considered, candidates should have meaningful investment, transaction and/or underwriting experience.
