Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) with hands-on Microbiology experience to join a hospital-based laboratory team in Austell, GA .

The MLT will perform laboratory testing, analyze and report results, maintain quality and accuracy standards, and ensure timely completion of testing. The ideal candidate will have strong Microbiology experience and proficiency with Epic Beaker LIS .

Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory and microbiology testing accurately and efficiently
• Process, analyze, and report patient specimens and laboratory results
• Perform quality control, proficiency, and competency testing
• Identify and investigate abnormal results or testing discrepancies
• Troubleshoot laboratory testing and instrumentation issues
• Maintain laboratory equipment and appropriate documentation
• Document testing and patient information accurately within the LIS
• Meet required turnaround times and laboratory productivity standards
• Follow laboratory safety, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or Certificate in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, or related field
• Microbiology experience required
• Epic Beaker LIS experience required
• MLT certification through ASCP, AMT, or AAB , or eligible provisional certification
• Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, organization, and communication skills

Shift: Days
Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
