Job Title

Registered Nurse – CVICU

Location

Tacoma, WA | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every other weekend required | Holiday coverage required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Cardiovascular ICU setting within an 82-bed critical care unit spanning three floors (48 ICU beds, 34 PCU beds)
• Manage ICU-level drip medications and ventilator patients in a 1:1 or 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio (PCU ratio 1:3)
• Collaborate with on-site day shift intensivists and virtual ICU coverage during night shifts
• Document and manage patient care using EPIC EMR
• Float within critical care units only, as needed
• Work alongside charge nurses, nurse aides, respiratory therapy (24/7), IV team, and pharmacy (24/7) to deliver comprehensive critical care

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Washington
• ACLS certification required
• Open heart surgery experience required
• Experience managing ICU-level drips and ventilated patients
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior CVICU or cardiovascular critical care nursing experience
• Familiarity with a broad range of critical care diagnoses and patient populations
• Experience working in large, multi-unit critical care environments
