Database Developer - Cloud & Enterprise Applications

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Database Developer with a minimum of 10 years in database development, preferably in the Financial Services industry. The role involves designing, developing, and deploying complex database applications, optimizing performance, and supporting cloud-based database platforms. The candidate will work across business units to deliver high-quality, secure, and scalable solutions, leveraging both on-premises and cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and deploy database applications based on business requirements while coordinating with business analysts, developers, and QA teams.
Develop and maintain complex SQL/PLSQL objects such as tables, views, materialized views, stored procedures, and triggers.
Implement and maintain ETL pipelines across multiple data sources.
Conduct unit testing, validate data in target containers, and ensure quality and accuracy of deployments.
Optimize database performance, scalability, and storage; troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues.
Work with Oracle RDBMS, PostgreSQL, AWS RDS, Redshift, and related cloud database services.
Build cloud-native, scalable, resilient architectures, and ensure compliance with cloud security best practices (IAM roles, policies, security groups, encryption).
Keep up to date with latest database technologies and cloud innovations.
Participate in technical design, application build, configuration, unit testing, and production deployment.
Provide technical ownership for diagnosing and resolving complex issues, including implementing workarounds or escalating to service owners.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support enterprise applications across multiple business units.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Hands-on experience with database development and design, including data modeling and performance tuning.
Strong expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, and creating/managing database objects (tables, views, materialized views, procedures, triggers).
Experience with ETL processes and data pipelines.
Proficiency in Oracle RDBMS, AWS RDS, PostgreSQL, Redshift, and associated cloud services (EC2, S3).
Experience with GitHub or other code repositories and release management tools (e.g., Cloud Controller).
Knowledge of cloud-native architecture and security in AWS.
Familiarity with high-volume transactional systems, micro-batch, and batch processing.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with public cloud platforms and ETL tools.
Domain experience in Banking/Financial Services, preferably Securities/Finance.
