Job Summary:
Johnson City, New York A healthcare organization is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join its operating room team. This role involves assisting during surgical procedures, maintaining sterile technique, and supporting patient safety throughout operations. Candidates are required to bring their Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) license and BLS certification on the first day of employment.

Job Details:

• Position: Surgical Technologist ORT (Operating Room Technician)
• Location: Johnson City, NY
• Schedule: Day rotation (Monday through Friday) 40 hours per week, 13-week assignment, with shifts typically starting at 6 a.m. to 7 a.m., either 5, 8-hour shifts or 4, 10-hour shifts
• Required Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent; certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by the NBSTSA; BLS certification from AHA, HSI, or the American Red Cross; experience with CVOR and Cardiothoracic procedures (CABG, Valve replacements, VATS, Robotic chest procedures, etc); current valid license or certification to work in the specified location
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous operating room experience; prior Surgical Technologist experience
• Certifications & Licenses: NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), BLS certification
• Schedule Notes: Up to 3 call shifts per week, ranging from 8 to 16 hours, with one weekend per 4 weeks involving call shift
• Additional Information: The role involves assisting surgeons during complex procedures, maintaining strict sterile technique, and supporting efficient OR turnover. The technician will handle specimen identification, assemble supplies, and assist with suturing, retracting, and suctioning as directed.
