Join us!Position SummaryThe Staff Software Engineer will be a lead for a surgical robotic platform software development team. This person needs to have strong technical skills as the position will be hands-on. This individual must be capable of creative and systematic product development with minimum supervision. The job requires the individual to be a team player with the ability to function well in a challenging and fast paced environment. Must be enthusiastic, positive, even tempered and have strong skills in areas of dependability, interpersonal relationships, flexibility and professionalism. The position is on-site, not remote.ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:Lead design, testing and documentation of robotic platform with cross-disciplinary teams.Develop prototypes, proofs of concept in addition to production-quality solutions.Carry-out investigations and root cause analysis for troubleshootingEnsure efficient performance and scalability of solutions.Provide guidance and oversight for other software engineers on the teamDemonstrate a passion for software development, software craftsmanship, and test-driven development.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.Required QualificationsBachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or another technical field. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.10+ years of professional programming experience· Experience developing motion control software·Experience developing haptic control software· Experience with kinematics· Experience with real-time or close-to-real-time systems· Experience with surgical navigation software a plus· Experience in object-oriented analysis and design·Experience programming in C/C++ required; experience with Rust a plus·Experience using AI-assisted development tools a plus· Experience developing software tools, utilities, and libraries/components·Experience in Medical Device field a plus· Ability to work independently and as a key contributor in small teams·Excellent oral, written, and graphical communication skills· Ability to travel up to 5% of the timeCompliance and Professional ConductAdhere to the letter and spirit of the Globus Medical Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies.
