Dental Patient Coordinator

Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Dental Patient Coordinator to join our vibrant dental team! Responsibilities: Greet patients warmly and professionally, providing exceptional front desk service and ensuring a positive first impression. Schedule appointments accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Open Dental, coordinating with clinical staff to optimize daily patient flow. Verify insurance coverage, process medical collections, and handle health insurance inquiries with thorough knowledge of HIPAA regulations and health information management policies. Manage patient intake forms, review documentation for completeness, and update electronic health records (EHR) efficiently and accurately. Assist with medical billing processes including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, Medicare claims, and medical documentation review to ensure proper reimbursement. Maintain organized medical records and ensure compliance with clinical confidentiality policies and health information management standards. Handle phone communication with patients regarding appointments, billing questions, or follow‑up care while demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills. Skills: Extensive experience with EMR/EHR systems such as OpenDental, EagelSoft; proficiency in electronic health records management is essential. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, clinical confidentiality policies, HIPAA compliance, and health insurance procedures including Medicare and Medicaid. Skilled in dental coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), medical billing, documentation review, and care plan coordination. Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to effectively serve diverse patient populations. Proven clinic experience within a dental or medical office environment with excellent clerical skills including filing, typing (10 key), and office management tasks. Exceptional customer service skills paired with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite for administrative tasks such as scheduling, correspondence, and record keeping. Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast‑paced setting while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy in all documentation.
