Travel Speech Language Pathologist Company: Fusion Medical Staffing Location: Salinas, California Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist for a 13-week travel assignment. The role involves evaluating, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders in individuals across all ages. Required Qualifications Valid Speech Language Pathologist License in compliance with state regulations Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology Speech Language Pathology experience; New grads welcome to apply Other certifications or licenses may be required Summary The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders. The SLP develops and implements individualized treatment plans, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and caregivers, and provides education on communication strategies and safe swallowing practices. Essential Work Functions Utilize standardized assessments and clinical observation to evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders across a diverse patient population. Design personalized therapy programs based on evaluation findings, patient goals, and evidence-based practices. Continuously assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and maintain detailed electronic medical record documentation. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on effective communication strategies, home-based exercises, and safe swallowing practices. Coordinate comprehensive care with interdisciplinary healthcare teams. Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards. Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities. Perform other duties within scope of practice.
