Title IX Coordinator

Longwood University invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Title IX Coordinator in Student Affairs. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and ensuring the University's compliance with Title IX and associated federal and Commonwealth of Virginia laws and regulations. This position also coordinates internal assessment for compliance purposes for the division of Student Affairs. This position is located in Farmville, Virginia, and is required to work in person on Longwood University's campus. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

• Monitor Longwood University policies in relation to Title IX laws and regulations
• Implement grievance procedures for students, faculty, and staff, including notification, investigation, disposition, and remediation of complaints
• Conduct and/or coordinate inquiries and investigations of complaints received pursuant to Title IX, ensuring a fair and equitable process for all parties
• Provide or facilitate primary and ongoing Title IX training to employees (faculty, staff, and applicable student-employees), ensuring compliance with training policies
• Provide or facilitate primary and ongoing Responsible Employee training to employees (faculty, staff, and applicable student-employees) and applicable volunteers for the University, ensuring compliance with training policies
• Provide specialized training for Civil Rights/Title IX Investigators, fact finders, and hearing and appeals board members (e.g., University Hearing Board and University Appeals Board members)
• Provide materials for the campus community concerning Title IX-related policies (e.g., Sexual Misconduct Policy, Annual Crime and Sexual Misconduct Training)
• Provide training, consultation, and technical assistance to members of the University on issues related to Title IX
• Work collaboratively with the Longwood University Police Department, campus partners, and off-campus resources to ensure compliance with Title-IX associated federal and Commonwealth of Virginia laws and regulations
• Serve as the University expert on Title IX requirements and compliance, and provide consultation to senior administration and other campus constituencies as necessary

Job Requirements:

• Juris Doctorate or Master's degree in higher education administration or other relevant discipline is required or must be successfully completed within one calendar year of the employment start date
• Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse range of constituencies (students, staff, faculty, parents/guardians, and administrators) exercising diplomacy and tact
• Demonstrated ability to act independently, take initiative, and exercise sound judgment
• Some weekend and evening work is required as necessary; serve in an on-call capacity for Title IX related emergencies
• 3-5 years of experience pertaining to gender-based violence and discrimination, including conducting investigations of alleged Title IX misconduct, and/or sex-based discrimination preferred
• Civil Rights / Title IX experience preferred
• Higher Education experience preferred
• Assessment experience preferred

Additional Information: This position is a full-time, administrative & professional faculty, exempt position. The anticipated salary range for this position is $58,000 - $64,000 annually. A successful fingerprint-based criminal background investigation is required. AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, and other national service alumni are encouraged to apply.
