Resumen del Puesto
El Mecánico de Taller II realiza mantenimiento y reparaciones especializadas en vehículos, maquinaria y equipos utilizados en las operaciones del vivero. Este puesto es responsable de diagnosticar problemas mecánicos, realizar mantenimiento preventivo y completar reparaciones de nivel intermedio a avanzado en vehículos de la flota y equipos operativos. El Mecánico de Taller II trabaja de forma independiente en muchas tareas de reparación y apoya al Líder de Mecánicos de Taller en mantener el equipo seguro y en condiciones óptimas de funcionamiento.
Funciones Esenciales
- Realizar mantenimiento preventivo y reparaciones mecánicas intermedias en vehículos y equipos de la empresa.
- Diagnosticar problemas mecánicos en camiones, tractores, remolques y equipo del vivero.
- Reparar y reemplazar componentes mecánicos incluyendo llantas, bandas, mangueras y componentes hidráulicos.
- Realizar servicios rutinarios como cambios de aceite, reemplazo de fluidos e inspecciones mecánicas.
- Mantener registros precisos de mantenimiento y reparación de vehículos y equipos.
- Asegurar el cumplimiento con los registros requeridos para mantenimiento, incluyendo aquellos requeridos por regulaciones DOT y CARB cuando corresponda.
- Trabajar con el Líder de Mecánicos de Taller o el Gerente de Flota en reparaciones mayores y planificación de mantenimiento.
- Mantener un entorno de trabajo limpio, organizado y seguro en el taller.
- Asegurar la correcta disposición de residuos del taller conforme a las regulaciones ambientales.
- Ocasionalmente viajar a otros viveros para diagnosticar o reparar equipos.
Responsabilidades Adicionales
- Puede apoyar en la capacitación o guía de Mecánicos de Taller I.
- Puede apoyar a otros departamentos del vivero cuando sea necesario.
- Las responsabilidades pueden cambiar en cualquier momento a discreción de la gerencia.
Experiencia y Otros Requisitos
Requerido
- Mínimo 5 años de experiencia trabajando con maquinaria, vehículos o equipo agrícola.
- Sólidas habilidades de diagnóstico y reparación mecánica.
- Capacidad para operar herramientas de taller y equipo mecánico de manera segura.
- Capacidad para mantener registros de mantenimiento precisos.
Preferido
- Experiencia trabajando con maquinaria agrícola o equipo de vivero.
- Experiencia en mantenimiento de flotas o equipo diésel.
- Conocimiento de requisitos de mantenimiento bajo regulaciones DOT.
Ambiente de Trabajo y Requisitos Físicos
Este puesto se desempeña principalmente al aire libre y dentro de un entorno de taller mecánico.
Las condiciones de trabajo incluyen exposición a diferentes condiciones climáticas, superficies irregulares, ruido de maquinaria, aceites, grasa y productos químicos del taller.
Los requisitos físicos incluyen:
- Permanecer de pie o caminando durante periodos prolongados
- Subir escaleras o trabajar alrededor de maquinaria
- Agacharse, arrodillarse o arrastrarse al realizar reparaciones
- Levantar hasta 25 libras (75% del tiempo)
- Levantamientos en equipo de hasta 100 libras (25% del tiempo)
- Uso de manos para agarrar herramientas y equipo
