Location: New York, NY (Hybrid preferred) - also open to EST remote

The hourly rate for this position is expected to be between $200.00 – $200.00 per hour, depending on geographic location, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Employment Type: Temporary, approximately 1 year FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Schedule: Monday-Friday

Job Summary:

• Conceive and design how our client's brand shows up in physical spaces — conferences, summits, launch events, and installations — translating abstract technology concepts into experiences people can understand and engage with
• Develop distinct creative concepts and directions for a given brief before moving into build
• Design the full visitor journey: entry, orientation, key moments, and takeaways, grounded in how people actually behave in a space
• Produce sketches, models, renders, and physical/interactive prototypes; test with real users and iterate
• Develop drawing sets and specs; brief and direct fabricators, AV, and production vendors through install; be on-site during builds
• Build reusable design patterns and language for consistency across events and spaces
• Prototype interactive/responsive elements incorporating AI technology
• Partner cross-functionally with brand, marketing, communications, and product teams to ensure accuracy

Requirements:

• Portfolio of built experiential work — installations, exhibits, events, or brand spaces — from concept through fabrication
• Demonstrated ability to generate multiple creative directions for a single brief and articulate rationale
• Hands-on production skills in spatial design, 3D modeling/visualization, and prototyping (Rhino, Blender, Cinema 4D, SketchUp, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite)
• Experience designing for human behavior in physical spaces
• Experience managing fabricators, AV, and production vendors through on-site install
• Ability to independently carry a project from ambiguous brief to finished execution
• Strong written/verbal communication skills, including presenting to non-visual thinkers
• Working knowledge of AI products and their interactive capabilities
• Preferred: coding/AI prototyping skills, interactive/sensor/projection experience, tech conference or museum/exhibition design background, and depth in an adjacent craft (motion, sound, lighting, industrial design)
• Portfolio/work samples required; international and domestic travel required
