Pharmacy Technician

Days: Monday-Friday, alternating weekends and holidays Guaranteed Hours: 24 hours/week Pay Range: $28.6697-$43.0102/hour Responsibilities Perform pharmacy functions under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist. Answer phones and process medication requests. Fill and prepare patient-specific medications. Support cleanroom and IV operations while following USP and requirements. Fill and maintain automated dispensing cabinets. Monitor and troubleshoot Pyxis hardware, software, and system alerts. Escalate pharmacy technology issues to appropriate IT, engineering, or vendor support. Operate pharmacy technologies including Pyxis, KitCheck, logistics systems, and EPIC. Optimize Pyxis inventory and resolve stock-outs. Fill floor-stock orders and replace emergency medication kits. Perform medication packaging and inventory management. Print labels, reports, and complete pharmacy-related computer functions. Support device installations, relocations, maintenance, and replacements. Track equipment serial numbers and coordinate equipment replacement. Generate utilization, access, and optimization reports for pharmacy leadership. Collaborate with pharmacy staff, pharmacy IT, and vendors on technology and workflow improvements. Maintain regulatory and infection-control compliance. Participate in performance improvement initiatives. Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare staff. Communicate effectively with the healthcare team. Complete required competencies, training, in-services, and staff meetings. Follow cost-containment practices and departmental policies. Perform other pharmacy-related duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 1 year of Pharmacy Technician experience. Registered Pharmacy Technician in the State of New York, as required by New York State regulations. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), or currently enrolled in an accredited college of pharmacy. Experience with medication dispensing systems. Ability to work nights, alternating weekends, and holidays. Required Skills Pyxis or other automated medication dispensing system experience. EPIC experience. KitCheck or pharmacy logistics technology experience. Cleanroom/IV pharmacy experience. Knowledge of USP and USP standards. Strong customer service and communication skills.
