Healthcare Security Officer The Healthcare Security Officer helps provide a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff within a healthcare facility. This role focuses on safety, access control, and customer service while supporting the facility's policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities Patrol assigned areas of the healthcare facility to deter and detect unsafe or suspicious activity. Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas; verify identification and control access as required. Respond to security incidents, alarms, and calls for assistance in a calm and professional manner. Assist clinical and administrative staff with patient, visitor, and staff safety as needed. Document incidents and complete clear, accurate reports in a timely manner. Enforce facility rules and regulations while treating everyone with dignity and respect. Support fire safety and emergency procedures, including evacuations when required. Use and care for any assigned safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) properly. Follow all Securitas and client health and safety policies, including reporting hazards and incidents. Qualifications Prior security experience preferred, especially in healthcare or similar environments. High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Ability to obtain and maintain any required state or local security licenses or certifications. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and respond quickly in emergencies. Basic computer skills for incident reporting and email.
