Production Operator

Production Operator – Rocky Creek Facility, Frisco City, AL Georgia-Pacific’s Rocky Creek Lumber facility is seeking a Production Operator. The role involves learning multiple operator functions in the woodyard and/or sawmill areas. Current production operators start at $20.00 per hour, with potential increases based on experience. The position requires 12‑hour rotating shifts (5:45 am–6:00 pm days or 5:45 pm–6:00 am nights). What You Will Do Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures while proactively seeking out potential safety hazards. Perform housekeeping functions to keep machinery running smoothly, reduce safety and fire hazards, maintain environmental controls, and preserve plant appearance. Cross‑train on production and mobile equipment to advance knowledge, skills, compensation, and advancement to an operator position. Work in various areas of the woodyard to meet or exceed facility and company production and quality goals. Collaborate as a team to meet or exceed production and quality goals while minimizing waste. Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and pulling for up to 12 hours a day and lift up to 50 lbs. Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing required safety equipment. Work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment, with rotating shifts, overtime, holidays, and weekends. Basic Qualifications A minimum of six months of work experience in an industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, farming, carpentry, construction, landscaping, production, or military environment. Preferred Experience One year of previous manufacturing experience. Experience troubleshooting equipment in a manufacturing environment. Experience in lumber or wood products.
