Engineer 2 Location: US-NM-Los Alamos Position ID: 2026‑1284 Pay Range USD $110,000.00 – USD $150,000.00 per year. Overview Omega Technical Services is seeking a highly motivated Engineer 2 to support ongoing operations in Los Alamos, NM. The Electrical Engineer will perform a full range of design engineering responsibilities in support of facility design, operation, and maintenance activities. This role requires applying broad and diversified knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, and DOE complex requirements. Responsibilities Responsible for assigned activities within an engineering discipline in support of facility design, operation and maintenance. Applies broad and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in the preparation of complex engineering analyses. Performs all aspects of work in engineering operations within discipline. Performs conventional structural design and analysis. Provides system integration within and across disciplines. Provides construction and project support. May provide direction to technicians. Able to work independently and as part of a team, utilizes engineering technology to accomplish work. Continuously improves work processes to meet customer needs. Perform conventional engineering design, analysis, and calculations. Develop, review, and support engineering design packages. Provide construction, field, and project engineering support. Work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidiscipline team. Apply engineering technology and tools to deliver high‑quality work. Interface with stakeholders across disciplines in a fast‑paced environment. Education Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution. Minimum 3 years of relevant engineering experience aligned with the responsibilities above. Qualifications Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen. Satisfactory results of a pre‑employment screening, which includes a drug and breath alcohol test, along with a Motor Vehicle Record check. Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance. Working knowledge of industry, regulatory, and DOE/NNSA codes, standards, and criteria relevant to electrical engineering. Proven knowledge of commonly applied codes and standards at DOE and DoD facilities (e.g., NQA‑1, IBC, NFPA, NEC). Prior experience facilitating and developing engineering design packages. Familiarity with typical engineering deliverables (e.g., construction documents). Experience with computer‑aided design/drafting software or markup tools. Experience in construction, producing and interpreting. Preferred Qualifications Possession of an active DOE/DoD clearance within the past two (2) years is preferred. Previous DOE/NNSA work experience. Work Schedule Shift will be dependent upon customer site discretion.
