Labor and Employment Attorney

A law firm seeks a Labor and Employment Attorney to join its team in Hackensack, NJ. The firm represents employers across various industries, providing both litigation defense and proactive counsel to management.

Duties

• Defend employers in state and federal court and before administrative agencies.
• Handle matters from initial charge response through discovery, motion practice, and trial.
• Participate in arbitration proceedings and workplace investigations.
• Advise clients on hiring practices, workplace policies, discipline, and terminations.
• Draft agreements and handbooks to protect employers.

Requirements

• 7+ years of litigation experience.
• Superior research and analytical skills.
• Strong persuasive writing and oral advocacy abilities.
• Admission to the New Jersey Bar; New York Bar admission is a plus.
• Substantial experience in employment litigation, including trial and arbitration.
• Experience advising on employment law compliance and risk management.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Admission to the New Jersey Bar.
