Billing Clerk

We are currently seeking an experienced billing specialist to join a growing team on a contract-to-hire basis. A small amount of travel will be required for this position. Job Title: Billing Clerk Position Summary The Billing Clerk is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and processing invoices while ensuring accurate billing records and timely payment collection. This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal departments. Key Responsibilities Prepare and issue customer invoices accurately and on time. Verify billing information, pricing, and supporting documentation. Process credit memos, adjustments, and refunds as needed. Maintain accurate billing records and customer accounts. Respond to customer inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account balances. Monitor outstanding invoices and assist with collections when necessary. Reconcile billing discrepancies and resolve issues promptly. Process payments and apply them to customer accounts. Collaborate with accounting, sales, and customer service teams to ensure accurate billing. Generate billing reports and maintain filing systems. Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures. Perform other administrative and accounting duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred. Previous experience in billing, accounts receivable, accounting, or administrative support preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Experience with accounting or billing software is preferred. Strong mathematical and data entry skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
