Fundraising and Development Manager

About the Role Our client, a well-established and impactful charitable organization serving the Welkom, Free State community, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fundraising and Development Manager. This critical role will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to secure diverse funding streams, including individual donations, corporate partnerships, grants, and events. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of fundraising principles, exceptional communication skills, and a proven ability to cultivate donor relationships. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet annual revenue goals. Cultivate and manage relationships with individual donors, foundations, corporations, and government agencies. Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising events, ensuring successful outcomes and donor engagement. Write compelling grant proposals and reports, securing funding from various grant-making bodies. Develop and implement campaigns for annual giving, major gifts, and planned giving. Steward existing donor relationships to ensure retention and increase giving levels. Oversee the maintenance of donor database and ensure accurate record-keeping. Collaborate with the communications team to develop fundraising materials and marketing collateral. Research potential funding sources and identify new fundraising opportunities. Analyze fundraising performance data and provide regular reports to senior management. Engage and manage volunteers involved in fundraising activities and events. Represent the organization at networking events and community functions to promote its mission and fundraising initiatives. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Non-profit Management, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in fundraising and development, with a proven track record of success. Demonstrated expertise in cultivating donor relationships, grant writing, and event management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive appeals. Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Proficiency in donor management software (e.g., CRM systems) and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in strategic planning and budget management for fundraising initiatives. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team, board members, and volunteers. Passion for the mission of our client and a commitment to serving the Welkom, Free State community. Knowledge of the local philanthropic landscape in the Free State is a plus. Flexibility to attend evening and weekend events as required.
