Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Onsite in Norristown PA - Monday to Friday Daylight Position.

3–5+ years of experience servicing and repairing heavy equipment, construction equipment, tractor trailers (semi's), or locomotives with very strong hydraulics, and electrical troubleshooting experience is required. 

We are looking for a hands-on Heavy Equipment Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain large, complex industrial equipment and vehicles. This is a field-focused role for a mechanic who can troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems and work from mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex electrical and mechanical failures.
• Troubleshoot diesel engines, powertrains, hydraulic systems, valves, pumps, and fluid power components.
• Service and repair heavy construction equipment and large industrial vehicles.
• Rebuild and repair multi-stage hydraulic pumps and other hydraulic components.
• Troubleshoot electrical wiring, controls, sensors, and related systems.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, hydraulic schematics, and electrical wiring diagrams.
• Trace hydraulic lines and electrical wiring to diagnose system failures.
• Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and equipment rebuilds.
• Work safely on large, complex mobile equipment.

Requirements

• 3 to 5+ years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Field Service Technician, Diesel Mechanic, or similar.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing large industrial or construction equipment.
• Strong hydraulic troubleshooting and repair experience.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, hydraulic schematics, and electrical wiring diagrams.
• Experience with construction equipment, trash trucks, locomotives/trains, drilling equipment, compactors, or other heavy industrial equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on repair skills.
• Ability to diagnose problems rather than simply replace components.
