Senior Director, Cell Therapy Communications, Corporate Affairs

Position Overview The Senior Director will lead the Cell Therapy Communications team, providing strategic direction and oversight for all cell therapy communications initiatives. Align communications strategies with organizational priorities; ensure consistent messaging and effective engagement with key stakeholders. Serve as a trusted advisor to C‑suite and senior leaders across CTO; oversee cross‑functional coordination across Corporate Affairs and build productive relationships across teams. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive communications strategies advancing CTO business objectives and enhancing BMS’s cell therapy portfolio reputation. Lead and mentor a communications team. Act as a primary communications partner to CTO leadership (including the President of CTO), advising on executive communications, media relations, and issues management. Oversee science‑driven narratives for internal/external audiences (product launches, regulatory milestones, pipeline updates). Coordinate with Corporate Affairs, Advocacy, Product Development & Supply, Medical, Regulatory, and Commercial teams. Direct digital/social content, educational materials, and thought‑leadership initiatives. Support crisis and issues management. Represent the team in key meetings/forums to advocate priorities and drive alignment. Prepare for and mitigate Cell Therapy business/brand/portfolio challenges across audiences. Requirements 10+ years healthcare (or related) experience in strategic business communications. Self‑motivated leader; drives strategy in complex, fast‑paced environments. Strong commercial/development business acumen (policy, advocacy, pricing, access). Strong understanding of medicine/science behind medicines. Solid understanding of global media and digital media. Proven success leading/advising senior/executive teams. Strong project management; able to lead cross‑functional work in a matrix. Master’s degree preferred. Desired: experience with autologous/allogeneic/stem cell and/or CAR‑T cell therapy.
