Instructional Aide / Coach

Job Title: Instructional Aide / Girls' Assistant Coach Employee type: Full Time Location: Sulphur Bluff ISD, Grades 7-12 Primary Purpose: Provide instructional assistance to students under the supervision of a certified teacher and assist with coaching duties. Responsibilities: Provide instruction to students under the direction of a teacher; work with individual students or small groups. Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays. Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom. Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment. Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports. Help supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom, including lunchroom, bus, and gym. Make teacher aware of special needs or problems of individual students. Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance. Participate in faculty meetings and special events as assigned. Qualifications: Associate’s degree, two years of study at an institution of higher learning, or have met formal academic assessment requirements preferred. Valid Texas educational aide certificate (district can help with certification). Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics. Ability to work well with children. Ability to communicate effectively. Some experience working with children. Requirements: Citizenship, residency, or work visa required. Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
