Maintenance TechnicianFort Payne, ALJob SummaryWe have a client seeking two motivated Maintenance Technicians to join our team in Fort Payne, AL. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys working with tools, troubleshooting equipment, and learning industrial maintenance skills. The role focuses primarily on preventative maintenance, basic repairs, equipment inspections, and supporting production operations to keep machinery running safely and efficiently.ResponsibilitiesPerform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems.Conduct routine inspections of machinery to identify potential maintenance needs.Assist with basic mechanical repairs on conveyors, motors, bearings, belts, rollers, and other production equipment.Troubleshoot equipment issues and work with the maintenance team to minimize downtime.Lubricate, adjust, replace, and repair mechanical components as needed.Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly use maintenance tools.Complete maintenance work orders and document repairs performed.Follow all safety procedures and company policies.Work closely with production and maintenance teams to support daily operations.Learn new maintenance skills through hands-on training and mentorship.Preferred QualificationsMechanical aptitude and an interest in maintenance, repair, or manufacturing.Experience using hand tools, power tools, and basic measuring devices.Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and identify worn or damaged components.Previous experience in manufacturing, maintenance, automotive repair, construction, farming, HVAC, or related hands-on work is a plus.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong attendance, reliability, and willingness to learn.High school diploma or GED preferred.Work EnvironmentThis position works in a manufacturing facility where temperatures may vary throughout the year. Employees will regularly work around production equipment and machinery and should be comfortable performing hands-on mechanical work in an industrial setting. Proper safety equipment and training will be provided.Ideal Candidate: Someone who enjoys fixing things, has strong mechanical aptitude, takes pride in preventative maintenance, and wants to build a long-term career in industrial maintenance.Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Payne, AL.Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $33.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
