We are seeking a part-time or full-time dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide, coordinate, and direct comprehensive care for patients receiving Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) . The ideal candidate will bring clinical expertise in peritoneal dialysis, patient education, and care coordination while promoting quality outcomes and compliance with ESRD regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to CAPD patients.
• Coordinate peritoneal dialysis treatments and patient care plans.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient progress and treatment outcomes.
• Recognize, manage, and educate patients regarding CAPD-related complications and interventions.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on dialysis procedures, catheter care, infection prevention, and self-care techniques.
• Maintain compliance with applicable ESRD regulations and facility policies.
• Collect and analyze clinical data, including Kt/V calculations, creatinine clearance, lean body mass, and protein catabolic rate.
• Complete required clinical assessments and data collection at least every six months.
• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, and caregivers to promote optimal patient outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in California.
• Current CPR certification.
• Minimum of two years of experience as a hemodialysis nurse.
• Working knowledge of peritoneal dialysis procedures, treatment protocols, CAPD complications, and clinical interventions.
• Knowledge of ESRD regulations related to CAPD and end-stage renal disease.
• Strong leadership, initiative, creativity, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and patient education techniques.
• Ability to train patients and orient new clinical staff.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years of peritoneal dialysis nursing experience.
• Experience managing peritoneal dialysis catheters.
• Experience providing patient education related to peritoneal dialysis.
