Overview Registered Nurse (RN) Pain Management Clinic PRN Clinic Hours Monday-Friday 7am-5pm. No weekends/No Major Holidays. How you will contribute A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role: Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions Provides care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient Performs timely and accurate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient Performs timely and accurate quality improvement (QI) assessments Essential Functions Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: Complete accurate documentation in patient records and charges Support clinic team to follow performance expectations for sustainable program KPIs: market capture goals, seeing four patients per hour, reaching 30% procedure ratio, and completing time-out and chart audits to monitor quality of care Assist physicians and APCs with patient treatments Offer support to patients and monitor them throughout clinical/procedure visits Complete dressing changes, suture and staple removal, pump refills, and pump reprogramming Identify potential risk events and provide intervention to assess and mitigate risks Demonstrate clinical judgment in decisions; take action in emergencies, document situations and rationale, report to appropriate persons, and evaluate results Assess data reflective of patient status and interpret information to identify age-specific care requirements Review and respond to clinical phone line messages regarding medication refills, questions from patients or physicians, and document actions Demonstrate knowledge of surgical procedures, infection control, and aseptic technique Attend to the needs for comfort, positioning and safety of surgical patients Use good body mechanics; follow universal precautions and appropriate use of supplies Identify patients correctly for procedures and verify identification using two identifiers; verify laterality where appropriate Participate in intradepartmental meetings and stay informed of changes within the department Adhere to department hierarchies of authority and communication Adhere to scheduling guidelines and expectations to reach pain management center patient per hour and referral management goals Demonstrate flexibility in workload and offer assistance to others as needed Maintain commitment to ongoing training and required educational programs Stay informed on new regulations and developments in nursing Adhere to standards reflecting professional care and personal accountability Treat every person as a customer Adhere to attendance policy Non-Essential Functions Position serves both internal co-workers and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors Access to and/or works with sensitive and/or confidential information Comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA); apply policies and procedures Perform other duties as assigned What we are looking for Applicants should have a current state RN license. Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required. Additional requirements include: Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire Two years of experience as a clinical nurse in a hospital environment; preferred experience in critical care, surgery, or emergency department EEOC Statement Frye Regional Medical Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
