Interim Wound Nurse (RN/LPN)

Berkshire Place Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is currently seeking an experienced and clinically strong Wound Nurse (RN or LPN) for an interim position . This role is responsible for overseeing and coordinating wound care services within the facility, ensuring residents receive appropriate assessment, treatment, monitoring, and documentation. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical knowledge, attention to detail, and experience working in a skilled nursing setting. Responsibilities Perform skin assessments and ongoing wound evaluations Monitor and document wounds, treatments, and resident progress Coordinate and oversee wound care treatments and interventions Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary team regarding wound care needs Ensure accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility policy and regulatory standards Monitor residents for changes in skin integrity and implement interventions as needed Provide education and guidance to nursing staff on wound prevention and treatment protocols Support compliance with clinical standards, infection prevention practices, and quality care initiatives Qualifications Current Rhode Island/Compact RN or LPN license required Wound care experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills Knowledge of wound prevention, treatment protocols, and regulatory expectations preferred Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the clinical team This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who is organized, hands-on, and committed to providing high-quality resident care in a supportive team environment.
