Floor Care Specialist

The Floor Technician is responsible for maintaining and ensuring the cleanliness and overall condition of floors in various facilities. This role involves cleaning, polishing, and repairing flooring surfaces, as well as performing regular inspections and maintenance to ensure optimal appearance and functionality.
Key Responsibilities:
Floor Cleaning and Maintenance:
Operate and maintain floor cleaning equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, and vacuums.
Clean and sanitize floors using appropriate cleaning solutions and techniques.
Strip, wax, and polish floors as required to maintain appearance and durability.
Ensure floors are free from hazards and obstacles to prevent accidents.
Inspection and Repair:
Conduct regular inspections of flooring surfaces to identify wear, damage, or maintenance needs.
Perform minor repairs to flooring, such as fixing loose tiles or replacing damaged sections.
Report major repairs or replacements needed to the supervisor.
Inventory and Equipment Management:
Manage and maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
Ensure proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals and tools.
Report any malfunctioning or damaged equipment to the supervisor.
Safety and Compliance:
Follow safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Comply with all relevant health and safety regulations and company policies.
Customer Service:
Provide excellent service to facility occupants and address any concerns or requests related to flooring.
Communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Previous experience in floor maintenance is a must.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of various floor cleaning techniques and equipment.
Ability to operate floor cleaning machinery safely and effectively.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy equipment or supplies.
Good communication skills and a professional demeanor.
Work Environment:
Ability to work in various environments.
May require working evenings, weekends, or holidays based on facility needs.
