Medical Courier (PRN)

Heartland Women's Healthcare, an Advantia Health partner, is GROWING and looking to add a Medical Courier to our Lab Team!
The successful candidate will communicate clearly and frequently with our team to ensure the highest level of care for our obstetrical and gynecological patients.

Job Responsibilities:

• Safely transports specimens, supplies, reports, equipment, and materials to clinic sites in a timely manner.
• Accurately records and receives every specimen and secures such specimens in the vehicle according to company standards and regulations.
• Operates the company vehicle in a safe manner and maintains a safe driving record within acceptable company guidelines.
• Follows the scheduled route while allowing for unexpected stops, special pickups, and unplanned circumstances.
• Always maintains specimen integrity, utilizing company-provided bags, coolers, and dry ice at all appropriate times.
• Updates route information, sequence of stops and client notes as needed.
• Manages punctuality and route management in a timely and safe manner.
• Interacting with medical professionals and medical lab staff daily.
• Communicates deficiencies with equipment or vehicle.
• Disseminates issues and concerns from various clinic sites to management.
• Adheres to all continuing education requirements in a timely manner.
• Able to work 8 hours per scheduled shift: Mon-Thurs 12pm-8pm or 5pm-12am | Friday 5pm-12am.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Illinois Driver's License; Satisfactory Driving Record; Ability to drive a motor vehicle in a safe and responsible manner.
• Physically able to lift at least 20 pounds.
• Ability to work independently.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in the medical courier industry preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations preferred.
