Advanced Service TechnicianBeatrice Location - Beatrice, NE 68130OverviewPosition Type Full Time Job Shift Day Education Level 2 Year Degree Category ServiceDescriptionPurpose:Independently performs advanced diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural and turf equipment. May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager or Shop Foreman.Responsibilities:Performs advanced diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and turf equipment and established Ag Management Solutions (AMS) productsParticipates in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledgeMentors Service Technician traineesConducts or supports customer clinicsMaintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive productsMaintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools and equipmentMaintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashionFollows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignmentsCompletes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignmentsAccounts for all time and all material used in performing assigned dutiesPerforms diagnosis and repair in the fieldQualificationsExperience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:3+ years experience performing service repairsAbility to perform advanced repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures on machines of the Technicians specialtyAdvanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipmentExcellent skills in operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposesAbility to use Service Advisor and basic computer functionsAbility to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly Advanced Service Technician certification preferredHigh School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferredValid drivers license required; CDL (Commercial Drivers License) and fork lift license preferredPhysical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the job duties, the employee must regularly lift and/or move 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Prolonged periods of standing and/or sitting. Ability to reach, stoop, kneel, and bend as needed. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential.
