General Manager of Nebraska

As the General Manager of our Nebraska facilities, you play a key role in the overall success of our Nebraska locations. This position will direct service and sales operations through a team of frontline managers to achieve planned sales and profitability objectives, while adhering to established procedures for business conduct, safety, and personnel administration. The General Manager is responsible for creating an environment of open and regular communications with employees, key accounts, vendors, and our senior management team. A successful candidate for this position is one who has a passion for driving a collaborative culture, invested in employee engagement, holds self and other accountable for results, and actively seeks colleagues’ input in decision making.This position is based in our Omaha location and will travel to our locations in Lincoln, Grand Island and Norfolk on a regular basis.Compensation and BenefitsCompetitive payHealth, dental and vision insuranceAccident, disability, and life insurance401k with company matchPaid time off8 paid holidaysBonus payEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAct as manager of the sales team, ensuring profitability, growth, market coverage and CRM sales processes objectives are achievedHold monthly sales meeting with sales teamManage customer support functions for the shop, field operations, parts, and retail traffic in NebraskaDeliver day-to-day leadership and management over all Nebraska locationsMonitor fleet utilization and develop inventory stocking recommendations – new & usedEnsure fleet “rent ready” standards are achievedEstablishes sales prices for new and rental conversion fleet itemsExhibit a high sense of urgency to customer requests and proactively follow-upDeal awareness, helping to increase close ratio among the sales teamMaintain vendor relations, as well as foster relationships with new vendorsManage staffing and employee development to increase efficiency and bench strengthMaintains a safe working environmentEnsure company policies and procedures are being followed throughout all locationsParticipates in annual goal setting, strategy, and budgeting processesMulti-Location responsibilityPerform ride-a-longs with sales team to build vendor relationshipsMonitor sales and service metrics; proactively implement corrective action plans to assure achievement of all departmental goals.Maintains positive and professional conduct of business with employees and other stores and manufacturers.Other duties as assignedRequired Skills and/or QualificationsProficient in Microsoft Office suiteExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to communicate and understand EnglishMetrics driven, solution oriented and ability to establish and communicate dataDemonstrated success managing and developing people to their full potentialAbility to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.Excellent sales and customer service skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong knowledge of equipment and rental processesDemonstrated ability to initiate, expedite, follow projects to completionAbility to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environmentMust hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving recordMust pass a background check and drug screenWorking ConditionsProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computerCapable of pushing, pulling, carrying, or lifting 60lbsAble to climb stairs, steps, ladders, mount, and dismount equipmentAble to work in all types of weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain, dust, and dirt)Must be able to travel 50-75%Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferredMinimum of five (5) years of industry experience, Komatsu experience preferred; experience in a dealership environment is a plusPrevious supervisory experience, including facility oversight and multi-site management is a plusExtensive sales and CRM experience preferredAbout UsRoadBuilders Machinery & Supply, founded in 1985, is a second-generation family-owned heavy equipment dealership with locations in Kansas, Nebraska, and Missouri.
