Job Description - Neonatologist (2500011A)

This position will support the Level III NICU at UM-SJMC while also contributing to clinical care, education, and quality initiatives within the Level IV NICU at UMMC . The successful candidate will hold a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics, University of Maryland School of Medicine, at Assistant Professor or Associate Professor commensurate with experience.

Position Highlights

• Level III NICU: expandable 20 bed capacity, located in Towson, MD
• Staffed with 24/7 and Neonatal Nurse Practitioners
• TeleHealth Support 24/7 from the UMMC Level IV NICU
• The Maryland Regional Neonatal Transport Program (MRNTP) services
• Referral to University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC)- Level IV NICU in Baltimore
• Referral to UMMC PICU providing ECMO and post‑cardiac surgery care
• Vermont‑Oxford Network. Reporting on Quality Metrics

University of Maryland Medical System Support Services

• Level IV- 52 State‑of‑the‑Art Single‑family‑room Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with an accredited Neonatal‑Perinatal fellowship Program
• The largest NICU Follow Up Program in the state of Maryland
• Center for Advanced Fetal Care (CAFC) for medically complex fetus and mother
• Collaboration with multiple level I and level II NICUs affiliated with the UMMS
• Participation in multi‑site UMMC Neonatal Quality Improvement Projects
• Research opportunities provided at the University of Maryland Institute for Clinical Translational Research (ICTR) and the renowned Institute of Genome Sciences (IGS)

The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on the University of Maryland School of Medicine’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate’s geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.
