Ignite a passion for literacy as a dedicated Reading Specialist supporting elementary and K-8 students in an engaging, onsite contract opportunity. This full-time position offers two openings with a 35-hour workweek, providing meaningful intervention and instruction to help students reach their fullest potential. The assignment begins as soon as possible and extends through June 10, 2027, offering both immediate impact and long-term professional growth.
Key Qualifications:
- Holds active Pennsylvania certification and reading specialist endorsement
- Demonstrates mastery in literacy instruction, differentiation, and formative assessment practices
- School-based experience with strong classroom and behavioral management skills
- Solid background working in urban educational settings
- Willing and able to work onsite each day and comfortable with the district environment
- Possesses reliable transportation for daily travel
- Fully able to complete Pennsylvania state clearances prior to start
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons to foster reading skills among elementary and K-8 caseloads
- Utilize data-driven assessment to inform instruction and monitor student progress
- Provide targeted interventions and support to help struggling readers achieve grade-level proficiency
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and families to maximize student success and encourage a culture of literacy
- Maintain thorough documentation, participate actively in meetings, and contribute to ongoing program improvement
