Responsibilities Operate excavators proficiently as a Heavy Equipment Operator. Carry out assigned tasks from management while prioritizing safety in all operations. Perform daily inspections on excavators and other heavy machinery to ensure they are in optimal working condition. Work with other areas, such as Maintenance, to ensure equipment is properly kept. Be adaptable to working in extreme weather conditions and at various sites throughout Sarasota, FL. Wear all PPE. Be a team player. Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must be available to work a 10‑hour shift from Monday to Friday and be open to possible weekend shifts if needed. Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience operating excavators. Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens; able to identify individuals for greetings, directions, and other interactions. Hearing: able to hear safety alerts and warning signals. Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying sizes with or without amplification. Equipment Operation: able to operate a wide range of tools. Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs (9kg). Lifting: able to lift up to 30lbs (14kg). Squatting/Kneeling: able to squat or kneel. Standing: able to stand for extended periods while delivering information. Walking: able to walk through the shop and other outside areas.
