Water Wastewater Engineer

We are seeking a Water Wastewater Engineer to support the planning, design, delivery and improvement of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This role will contribute to projects across the full asset lifecycle, including feasibility studies, concept development, detailed design, construction support and operational improvements. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical, safe, sustainable and cost-effective engineering solutions for treatment facilities, pumping stations, pipelines, storage assets and associated infrastructure.


Key responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing technical reports, calculations, specifications, drawings and schedules; assessing hydraulic performance and process requirements; supporting investigations, condition assessments and optioneering studies; and ensuring designs comply with applicable legislation, technical standards, environmental requirements and health and safety principles. You will liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, regulators and internal stakeholders, attend site visits and design reviews, contribute to risk assessments, and provide technical input during construction and commissioning. The role may also involve managing elements of projects, monitoring budgets and programmes, and mentoring less experienced engineers.


Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in civil, environmental, chemical or water engineering, with relevant experience in water and/or wastewater infrastructure design or delivery. Knowledge of hydraulic modelling, water or wastewater treatment processes, pipeline systems, pumping systems and industry design standards is highly desirable. Experience with engineering software and technical design tools, together with strong written and verbal communication skills, will be important. You should be able to work independently while contributing effectively to collaborative project teams, manage competing priorities and demonstrate sound technical judgement. Professional registration or progress toward professional accreditation is advantageous. A commitment to quality, sustainability, innovation and continuous improvement is essential.
