About the Position

# Job Opportunity – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse – Texas**Start Date:** September 16, 2026 **Location:** San Antonio, Texas **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** 12-hour shifts; every other weekend required; day and night shifts available**Highlights:** - 24-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit treating patients across all body systems including respiratory, neuro, GI, GU, burns, DKA, ortho, ENT, and medically complex cardiac patients- Patient ratios of 2:1 standard, 1:1 for higher acuity, and 3:1 for step-down acuity patients- Work with advanced equipment including ventilators, multiple drips, chest tubes, central lines, syringe pumps, trachs, and G-tubes- EMR system: Meditech- Opportunity for cross-training and floating to other pediatric specialty units including NICU and Pediatric Emergency- Collaborative team environment with approximately 40 nursing staff members supporting quality patient care**Requirements:** - Active Texas RN license or ability to obtain- PALS certification required- ICU level of care experience with intubated/ventilated patients required- Experience managing critically ill pediatric patients- ECMO experience (patient care) preferred- CRRT experience preferred- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary medical teams**Why It's a Great Opportunity:** This position offers the chance to work in a comprehensive pediatric intensive care environment where you'll care for critically ill children across diverse diagnoses and acuity levels.
