Project Engineer – Mechanical & Capital Projects Location: Port Wentworth, GA Pay Rate: $106,700 – $159,900 Category: Salary Full-Time About The Role Responsible for performing basic engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned Understand and support capital and non‑capital project delivery process and help define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals, mill safety, reliability, and improvement efforts Collaborate with more experienced engineers to provide follow‑up and engineering assistance on defined problems Prepare or assist in preparing reports, graphs, planning layouts, and summaries designed to communicate project progress or results Successfully perform non‑complex and routine assignments while developing engineering fundamentals Understand and execute work in a manner consistent with safety procedures and practices with some guidance Utilize basic communication tools such as memos, email, and verbal to update others on progress of assignments when prompted Develop relationships with teams and process areas as needed with each assignment Interact with other mill departments such as Operations, Maintenance, Purchasing, etc. to achieve assignment objectives About You: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred) Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment Ability to work collaboratively with hourly employees, salaried leaders, vendors, contractors, and cross‑functional teams Demonstrated commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence Functional/Technical Skills, Drive for Results, Informing, Customer Focus, Interpersonal Savvy, Organizing, Planning, Problem‑Solving, Learning on the Fly, Decision Quality, Dealing with Ambiguity Benefits Medical, Dental, Life insurance Flexible Spending Accounts Short-term and Long-term Disability 401(k) and Company-funded retirement contributions Paid Time Off Physical Location Global Cellulose Fibers – Port Wentworth Mill 1 Bonnybridge Rd Port Wentworth, GA 31407 Global Cellulose Fibers is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
