Technologist-Interventional Radiology

Job Responsibilities

• Performs basic to complex quality radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety method as requested by a licensed physician in Interventional Radiology, Neuro Interventional Lab, Cardiac Cath Lab, and Electrophysiology lab.

• Sets up sterile table, assembles necessary instruments, catheters, guidewires, and contrast materials according to procedure requirements.

• Assists Radiologist/Neurologist/Cardiologist with catheters, guidewires, balloons, coils, and treatments.

• Develops appropriate procedure/treatment plan and implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established hospital protocols/guidelines.

• Completes documentation as required to comply with policies and procedures.

• Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff.

• Participates in departmental Performance Improvement activities to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards.

• Completes assigned goals.

• Other duties as assigned

Experience

Description Minimum Required Preferred/Desired

Experience as obtained through Minimum of 1 year as a radiology the completion of a Radiology technologist. 6 months 

Technology Program. experience in IR/Cath lab/EP. 

Education

Description Minimum Required Preferred/Desired

Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT.

Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Radiologic principals/theory. Utilizes the most appropriate technique and 

positioning for optimal procedures/treatments as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results. Demonstrates ability to receive and follow written and oral 

instructions; ability to plan and organize work

Licensure

Registered by American Registry Registry in Vascular of Radiologic Technologists Interventional ARRT(VI)

(ARRT) with Registry in 

Radiography ARRT (R). ;BLS Certification within 14 days of hire; New graduate will obtain required registry within 120 days as required;. State license as required
